Gig Review

THANE has become quit bit active this monsoon for the rock gigs. The place called “CRAZE TURTLE” has all ready witness the live action on June 18^th. The “CRAZE TURTLE” mainly a sport bar, but good appetite for the music. The bar has the nice ambiance, with good food makes it more comparative to some of the Bombay venues. The “CRAZE TURTLE” definably made the news.

Determined attempt from Aviv Pereira from split pays off well in this gig. It’s a nice platform to promoting young bands from THANE. The gig was featuring three bands tow from THANE and one from BOMBAY. The first band was called “CATHRSIS” second one was “STILL A LONG WAY” both are from THANE. They are just month old band. And last but not the list the opening act was “TRIPWIRE”.

“CATHRSIS” comprised with Ajay on guitars, Vaidehi on rhythm guitars, Sagar on bass and Jude on vocals and Aniketh on the drums. Ajay was outstanding with his guitars skills. Defiantly a talented young guitarist. He was simply superb. + Jude voice was good. It was jelling well with the other sounds. As a female guitarist in the band few eyebrows raised, and bit shake on the start of the gig she did well with the rhythm. I think for her only they have covered the “ZOMBE” from Cranberries. The entire band performs well in their first show.

With the name “STILL A LONG WAY” I think these kids know that it going to be long way ahead. I like their modesty. They have passé me through my collage days. With their grunge sound, I am proud to say that alternative is still alive. They have covered, “Last kiss” and one of the song from Velvet Revolver, without Nikhil Pathak and Janmeya on rhythm & lead receptively on guitars they could have not imagine covering these song at their first gig. Meetvan Thaker was really impressive with his vocals. It was not sounding that band has having there launch show. Smith Hajare on bass and Nachiket Karekar on drums also ware good with their techniques. One of their originals called “BITCh” was well written and composed. It was nice to see this talented boys ware performing in front of their home crowd. Some of the parents also have come for their kids show.

Finally “TRIPWIRE” had performed their punk act. It was nice to see these boys in the live gigs. I don’t know why they have stopped playing at live gigs. In this competitive word, you cannot lay underground. You have to show your talent. I think TRIPWIRE have come a long way know. I like their attitude towards song writing. One of their originals “FROZENPORTRAIT “, the crowd was actually singing along with the band.  It was the big receipt to the band, that’s his songs been flowed by their fans. The trio has tremendous potentiality. Their music has maturing as time pass. I like the verity they offer from their songs. They have songs from politics to music. The band has really worked hard on their sound, and it was reflecting in this gig. I thought they could play all night long with such a line up. They should see that more & more live gigs they do it this year.

Freedom from Respect

Did you find yourself when people don’t respect you? What did you do then? The answer is simple. Thank them, because they have given you freedom. If they do so, they often take your freedom from you. If they respect you, they expect you also respect them. You are obliged to do so because you don’t want to hurt them. But if they don’t respect or love you, you are not obliged to answer their quires and can drop all the formalities. They will not be hurt. They have set you free. Being unfriendly does not mean that you have to be aggressive.

Emotion is linked with the people, object or an event. Catching on the object or relationship hinders freedom. You will find freedom when you will give up all your emotion. The best thing is to put the freedom first and not to bother about respect. It is very difficult to be free from all tee burden of obligation and not to affect by your friends’ opinions and feelings. Give freedom to everyone whatever they want to think. Then you will find you’re so much at ease at peace with yourself. You don’t have to compare you self with anyone. You are not in any competition.  Identify if some on gives a comment, reflect on it. If there is any truth accept it. It’s requires lot of inner strength. If there is not any truth as you think, thank them and move on. Don’t ask them why. Just say: “I appreciate your perception” and move on. The true freedom is not an “I don’t care attitude”.

Once you don’t appreciate, and you are stiff or arrogant you are not free. Freedom is an inner lightness with a smile.
